Q. How far in advance can members reserve cars?
A. Cars can be booked up to 1 month in advance subject to availability; wildcards can be used to book cars up to 12 months in advance.

Q. What happens if the car gets damaged?
A. Any damage‚ late returns or fuel expenses will be charged to the members credit/debit card at cost. Stone chips‚ kerbed alloys‚ and minor damage won’t be charged if the car is deemed not to warrant a repair‚ or if the damage is through normal wear and tear. If the cost of the repair is more than the excess the members will pay the excess.

Q. Are there any age limits?
A. You will need to be aged 25-70. If you are outside of this range, membership may be available subject to individual experience.

Q. Do I get any benefit for introducing new members?
A. Yes, if you introduce a colleague or friend who eventually joins CLUBGT you will both be credited with 250 bonus points.

Q. Is there a mileage restriction?
A. No‚ but members pay points per mile for use of the club’s cars.

Q. Are bank holidays classed as weekend days?
A. No‚ Bank holidays are charged at the normal weekday rates.

Q. Can I take the cars into Europe?
A. Yes‚ subject to prior authorisation from CLUBGT.

Q. What happens when I’ve used all my points?
A. Your membership will lapse or you can buy another membership (without joining fee). Any remaining points will be transferred and will be valid for a further 12 months.

Q. What is the hire period for weekends?
A. If you hire for Saturday and Sunday then subject to availability you may pick up the car on Friday afternoon and return it on Monday morning. In addition, if you book both Sat and Sun, Friday is available at weekday rate.

Q. What is the excess on the cars?
A. The cars have a different excess depending on which class they are in:
•Class 0 £4500
•Class 1 £4000
•Class 2 £3000
•Class 3 £2000

Q. Is it possible to reduce the excess?
A. Yes‚ you can take out the optional collision damage waiver which reduces all excesses by 50% for £300 a year.

Q. When can I pick up and return the car?
A. 9am is the standard time‚ it may be possible to change this by prior agreement. We generally allow any 24hr period by prior arrangement.

Q. What driving experience do I need?
A. Minimum 5 years UK licence‚ non-UK licences will be accepted on an individual basis. Members must have no more than 6 points on their licence.

Q. What happens if there is a problem with the car?
A. All cars are covered by breakdown assistance‚ we will do our best to provide an alternative car if the problem cannot be resolved.

Q. Can I drive the cars on a track?
A. No, the club’s cars cannot be used in any track event, or competitive road event. This includes the Nürburgring.

Q. Can my partner drive the vehicle?
A. Yes, each member can nominate a partner as an additional driver subject to them having paid a joining fee and having completed the driver training day.

Q. What if I have to leave the country or relocate unexpectedly?
A. You can either transfer the membership to a colleague or friend subject to them paying a joining fee and completing the driver training and being approved for membership to the club.
